After graduating with a Bachelor of Science specialized in Ecology, I started off my environmental career, working for a University of Alberta PhD student studying wild fire forest succession in the Rocky Mountains. At that time I learned the names of hundreds of plants and flower species and spent my summer trekking through the forests of Jasper, Lake Louise and Kananaskis. I couldn’t go anywhere without mentally identifying all of the plants and wildflowers in my line of sight!
This painting collection is inspired by all the beautiful and unique wild flowers and animals that are found it the Rocky Mountains! I had fun identifying a few different types of flowers again!
